Glitz and Glitter

Awesome Angelina Sampler, in progress

This is one of the new classes I'll be teaching at Greenbaum's Quilted Forest this spring/summer.  I wanted to design something simple to show some of the many ways to use Angelina fibers and films.

It's been fun to play with, moving pieces around, auditioning different 3" x 3" background patches for the nine squares, fusing different combinations of colored fibers, and generally keeping an open mind during the design process.  That's the joyful part for me -- being open to all possibilities until the very end, approaching the project with a spirit of playfulness.   I may still move some of the elements around . . .  lots of extra little circles from fused Angelina have been cut and they might be sprinkled throughout the piece.  We'll see!

Some stitching is still needed in places, such as detail of the dragonfly wings.  This project is nearing completion, and then it's on to finishing my other new class samples!
